Bookmakers are confident that Justine Henin’s return to the WTA Tour will be successful and offer odds of just 3/1 (bet $10 to make $30 profit) that she will be world no 1 at the end of 2010.

After a 16 month ‘retirement’ Henin has said she aims to return to the world of professional tennis by the Australian Open next January.

The 27 year old, who has been inspired by Kim Clijster’s return to the women’s game and the Dutch player’s triumph in the US Open, is 8/1 to win the Australian Open with Ladbrokes.

She is offered at 3/1 to win the French Open, 8/1 to win Wimbledon, 6/1 to win the US Open and 6/4 to win any Grand Slam.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison told Tennis Bet: “If Henin can find the form which took her to seven Grand Slam wins she’ll be dangerous, particularly at the French Open.”
