US Open tennis men’s semi final – Federer vs Djokovic
The linesmakers seem to have no doubt who will be the winner of this match – they make Roger Federer a best price of 2/9 (bet $90 to make $20 profit) to progress to the final of the US Open.
Novak Djokovic, who is seeded no 4, is almost dismissively written off at 7/2 to win the semi final and meet either Rafael Nadal or Juan Martin del Potro in the final.
Federer is a best price 7/5 to win in straight sets, 5/2 to win 3-1 and 8/1 to win in five sets. Djokovic is 20/1 to win in straight sets, 12/1 to win 3-1 and 14/1 to win 3-2.
The two players have met each other in the last two US Opens and Federer has taken six sets to Djokovic’s one. The Serb has won two of their meetings this year but on both occassions Federer played well below his best and appeared not to care about the result. It seems very unlikely he will play like that in the semi-final of a Grand Slam.
Federer is a best price 8/13 to win the US Open while those who believe Novak Djokovic can hit his best form and overcome his tempramental nature can take 10/1 about him being crowned US Open champion.
